Re-defining Great Teaching

For too long, we have allowed others to determine what excellence looks like in our profession. The previous model of great teaching often meant over-work and self-sacrifice which can lead to exhaustion. I designed this workshop to empower teachers to personally re-define what great teaching looks like and give them support and encouragement to honor their own self-care needs. Our morning will be centered on rich discussion around the martyr syndrome in education, followed by fabulous free lunch. Our afternoon features several fun activities to help release old patterns and create new empowering beliefs which support your self-care needs. If you’re ready to dump your martyr and start honoring your own needs, this workshop is for you!

All “Sustainable Me” workshops are held in beautiful spaces in the metro area of Colorado. Please contact Dr. Sue (Sassydoc61@gmail.com) if you’re interested in attending via Zoom.

Redefining Great Teaching

Workshop Reflection Questions

What new empowering beliefs (both personal and collective) could replace outdated models?

Why have teachers accepted these unsustainable beliefs as just “doing the job”?

Where do these unsustainable beliefs come from?

How are educational values around self-care different from other helping/caring professions such as healthcare and counseling?
